VolunteeringNovember 2011 I had the honour of being made a Community Volunteer for the Stock & Resources Gallery at DeviantART.com which is hugely rewarding (and demanding!) position - which I cherish the opportunity to experience!
October 2012 Just as I think my magical year of being a Community Volunteer is about to come to an end I am over the moon to be asked to stay on the team as a Volunteer Mentor. Can not even describe how proud and honoured and inspired I am!
I've held a number of design based positions in a variety of companies since leaving university, and have been working as a Graphic Designer and Web Designer for my curent employer for 3 years.
I also provide freelance web design services for a number of clients on an 'ad hoc' basis.
I have been using Adobe products since 1994, most significantly Adobe Photoshop. Along the way I have become proficient with a selection of other software including 3D Studio Max and the majority of the Adobe Creative Suite.
I taught myself HTML and CSS coding and developed this knowledge along with a working knowledge of good web design creating my first amateur website back in 1996.
My own personal artwork has developed alongside my knowledge of Photoshop, to the point where I rarely use traditional media unless the fancy takes me. Examples of my work can be found throughout this site.
My love of historical costume and British architectural history are pursuits that frequently find a place in my stock photography.
When not glued to my computer and Wacom tablet I enjoy reading sci/fi and fantasy, being purred at by my wonderful but crazy cats, dabbling in science fantasy and fanfiction writing or exploring the countryside with my Fiancé.
